From the manufacturer
Featuring problem-solving innovations for long life and increased durability, MOOG takes pride in being called The Problem Solver. These advancements lead to long-lasting outer tie rod ends that are designed, tested and manufactured for easy installation and perfect fit right out of the box.
HEAT TREATED STUD
Ball studs are heat treated to match or exceed OE requirements to inhibit premature failure and improve fatigue strength
COVER PLATE
Pressed-in cover plate (where applicable) seals out debris and minimizes looseness, reducing bearing wear and promoting longer life
GREASABLE DESIGN
Greasable socket reduces corrosion and wear by allowing new lubricant to flush contaminants (where applicable)
GUSHER BEARING
Problem Solver gusher bearing metal-to-metal design provides strength and allows grease to flow through bearing surface for reduced friction and long life (where applicable)
What are outer tie rod ends?
Part of the steering system, the outer tie rod end connects the steering knuckle, on which your front wheel is mounted on one end, to the steering gear mechanism on the other end. As you steer left or right, the steering gear pushes the steering arms and tie rods left or right respectively. Normal wear and tear and hazards like poor road conditions, potholes and accidents can cause damage to tie rod ends. If a tie rod fails, the effects can range from the mild (like premature tire wear) to the extreme (a total loss of control of your vehicle). Be on the lookout for these signs of a failing outer tie rod end:
Uneven or premature tire wear
Excessive inner or outer tire wear is a sign that there could be something wrong with your tie rods ends.
Front end out of alignment
A damaged tie rod end can cause the front end to come out of alignment and handle poorly.
Vibration or looseness in steering wheel
A loose tie rod end can cause vibration or looseness in the steering wheel which can worsen during acceleration or turns.
Clunking, grinding or noise under vehicle
Abnormal noises like squealing while turning corners or clunking from the front end can be an indication of a damaged tie rod end.
Blood clots do not discriminate. They can affect anyone, regardless of age, ethnicity, or race. The National Blood Clot Alliance (NBCA) is the leading nonprofit organization in the United States focused singularly on building awareness and building community among people who are affected by blood clots or at increased risk for blood clots, including people with clotting disorders, atrial fibrillation, cancer, traumatic injury, and risks related to hospitalization and surgery, lengthy immobility, childbirth, and hormonal birth control.
NBCA’s leadership and staff combine the unique perspectives of healthcare providers, individuals who are personally affected by clotting disorders, and health education and policy experts who are passionate about this crucial public health challenge. Each member of our clotting disorders community is essential to the work that we do, makes us stronger as a group, and brings us one step closer to the realization of NBCA’s vision of a future in which the number of people suffering and dying from blood clots in the United States is reduced significantly.
